About me...
Originate is...Amanda Ridings.
After a mis-spent early career as a derivatives and swaps trader in "The City", I trained as a Chartered Accountant and worked in public services. In 1998 I left my job as Director of Finance of an NHS Trust, did an MBA, and began to build my practice as an independent consultant and executive coach. More recently I have added coaching supervision to my portfolio.
I now work with individuals and small groups to create the conditions for learning and change through coaching, coaching supervision and the development of dialogue practices. The work can be both inspirational and challenging as we grapple with complexity, probing for greater understanding and appropriate responses. Together, we are often working at the edge of our capability, trying out new things, never quite as sure of our ground as we'd like to be.
In being present as an executive coach, coach supervisor or host for dialogue, I aim to bring your unique contribution and potential into being, and to support you in exploring the possibilities this offers.
My work is informed by my T'ai Chi practice, which stretches my mind, body and spirit. I find there are many similarities with leadership - in T'ai Chi there are no answers, just continual practice, learning and development of resilience. I enable my clients to experience these links through working with Conscious Embodiment practices, developed by Aikido master Wendy Palmer. Click here for more information.
I am an APECS accredited executive coach (for more information about APECS click here) and am accredited as a coach supervisor by The Coaching Supervision Academy (for more information click
here).
For more information about my dialogue work and my general approach see my book, Pause for Breath: bringing the practices of mindfulness and dialogue to leadership conversations.
